Workers at Carmen Schools of Science and Technology File for a Union Election
Milwaukee, Jan. 12, 2022 -The Carmen Workers Collective is excited to announce that they have taken the next step in the process to be represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) District 10. Their petition for a union election was filed today with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) office in Region 18, Minneapolis, MN.
In exercising their right to vote, the professional and non-professional staff at Carmen Schools of Science and Technology seek to bargain collectively and achieve a negotiated agreement that will address numerous workplace issues. Four of the primary goals of their union drives are: equity, a sustainable workload, transparency, and financial fairness.
The Carmen Workers Collective are dedicated teachers who are committed to providing the highest educational standards that will allow their students to grow and thrive both before and after graduation from Carmen schools.
